Ameren Illinois starts Granite City grid reliability project

On October 15, 2026, Ameren Illinois began upgrades near Granite City, including a new switching station near the U.S. Steel facility, upgrades to two substations and a 69-kV line. Construction is expected to continue through November 2027.
