Gas plume prompts emergency response at Howmet Aerospace facility in Cuyahoga Heights

On Oct. 21, a contractor collecting waste nitric acid accidentally released a gas plume at Howmet’s Cuyahoga Heights facility around 11 a.m. The affected area was evacuated and a few people received on-site medical attention. Howmet spokesperson Rob Morrison said production impact was not expected beyond Wednesday.
