Volkswagen selects NXP as strategic semiconductor partner

Event: Oct. 26, 2026. Volkswagen Group selected NXP’s S32K5 microcontrollers as a common building block for its future zonal software-defined vehicle architecture, developed by RV Tech, the VW-Rivian joint venture, for use across both companies’ vehicles. First vehicle using the architecture is planned for 2027; financial terms were not disclosed.
