PulteGroup and M/I Homes report slower sales amid elevated mortgage rates
On Oct. 22, Homes.com reported PulteGroup and M/I Homes cited weaker selling conditions in September and early October. M/I new contracts fell 16% YoY in September; Pulte closed 6,200 homes in Q3 versus prior guidance of 7,000–7,400 and forecast 27,000–27,500 for 2026. Pulte buyer traffic fell 14%; M/I said buy-down costs weighed on margins.
